The Mule Barn
The Mule Barn was constructed in 1910
Mules were well-used at the Fort. All of the wagons were pulled by mules, mules even pulled carts on tracks (similar to railroad tracks), and were occasionally used for recreation and "Barnyard Polo".
Each mule was said to have its own window in the Barn.
Enlisted men were not allowed to have horses, although there was a paddock behind the mule barn that was available for Officers' horses.
Today the mule barn is used as storage for the restaurant.
