The Cove of Diamond Cove
Picnickers and artists frequented Diamond Cove long before Fort McKinley was built.
Diamond Cove got its name from the mica, an iridescent group of sheet silicate minerals, which forms naturally along the coast of Maine and would make the beaches appear to sparkle.
